Public Works Seasonal Maintenance Worker - Water

Job Description
The City of Saratoga Springs currently has several openings for Seasonal Maintenance Workers - Water; this is a seasonal position with the Saratoga Springs Public Works Department of approximately 40 hours per week. This is position under the specific supervision of the Water Supervisor and the general supervision of the Assistant Public Works Director â  Utilities. This position assists the full time employees with the ongoing operation and maintenance of culinary water and secondary water throughout the City.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
â ¢ Assist with routine maintenance of the Cityâ  s water infrastructure.
â ¢ Assist with repairs to water facilities as needed.
â ¢ Assist with the installation and maintenance of water meters.
â ¢ Assist with water meter reading on a monthly basis.
â ¢ Assist with utility locating.
â ¢ Assist with general maintenance duties of public facilities as assigned.
â ¢ Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:
Education & Experience:
â ¢ A limited number of under 18 years old positions are available, majority of positions are for applicantâ  s over 18 years of age.
â ¢ Graduation from high school, or GED preferred.
Certifications Required:
â ¢ A valid Utah Driverâ  s License.
â ¢ First Aid and CPR Certification (ability to obtain).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
â ¢ Demonstrate the ability to follow City policies and procedures.
â ¢ Knowledge of water systems and their functions, operations and routine maintenance needs.
â ¢ Knowledge of basic computer operations and applications.
â ¢ Knowledge of correct use of the English language and vocabulary.
â ¢ Ability to maintain records and task lists.
â ¢ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others (i.e. employees, volunteers, and the general public).
â ¢ Ability to understand and follow oral instructions.
â ¢ Ability to deal with the public in a pleasant, courteous, and calm manner.

SCHEDULE AND NOTICES:
Works approximately 40 hours a week, specific schedule to be set with the Assistant Public Works Director - Utilities upon hiring; students may apply to work a reduced work week while enrolled in school.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
